Tapestry Project

To introduce its new 2025 collection, Ligne Roset envisioned much more than a simple exhibition. An immersive and sensory experience, created as a link between expertise and contemporary creation, came to life in the heart of the Palais de Tokyo.

Three monumental tapestries—The Ideas of Man, The Time of Nature, and The Hands of the Future—designed by artist Thomas Defert, were woven in our factory in Briord, in the Ain department. It is here, in the heart of our workshops, that each piece took shape, carefully crafted by artisans and technicians who perpetuate a know-how passed down for generations.

But rather than displaying these textile works in the traditional way, we chose a more daring approach. Three trompe-l'oeil movies, projected at full scale, gave the illusion that the tapestries were present. A play on perception, a sensory installation, a poetic way to bring craftsmanship into the exhibition space without ever confining it.

Through this staging, Ligne Roset affirms its roots. It advocates local and responsible production. It cultivates a deep commitment to quality. It asserts a demanding aesthetic, which places people at the heart of each creation: their gestures, their vision, their intention.
